About the Course:
This course takes an in-depth look into the independent power, role and duties in the Office of Sheriff in accordance with the Constitution of Georgia and Official Code of Georgia Annotated. Four empowering lessons to restore public confidence in law enforcement services as required by the Georgia Governor's Initiative on Police Legitimacy, Procedural Justice and Community Relations.
Course Objectives:
- List the origins, historical breakdowns, and high standards for restoring public confidence in Office of Sheriff legitimacy.
- Define the principles and tactics of Procedural Justice for executing the full spectrum of constitutional mandates performed by the Sheriff according to the rules of law.
- Cite conflicting view points of Sheriff Legitimacy through four pillars of public perception to minimize citizen encounters from escalating into an out of control incident.
- Envision the alignment of Community Policing and Community Relations into the organic mandates of the Office of Sheriff.
